Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Newark is seeking a friendly Receptionist to join our Concierge team at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. You will manage a welcoming front desk, greet visitors, and coordinate basic scheduling and patient information workflow.

Responsibilities include answering questions, assisting patients, coordinating with clinical staff, and supporting patient navigation programs to ensure a positive first impression and smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED equivalent.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Completion of required orientation programs.
• 1-2 years customer service experience (preferred).
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Job Overview:

The Receptionist performs front desk reception, scheduling duties, coordinates the operations of patient information, welcome, meet-and-greet patient navigation programs, and ensures a welcoming environment for patients and visitors.

The goal is achieved through various channels by working with multidisciplinary team members to provide exceptional customer service to all patients and visitors in order to achieve a high level of satisfaction and enhance first impressions.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including workdays, weekends, and holidays
• Completion of all required orientation programs

Preferred:

• 1-2 years customer service experience
• Ability to deal with diversified customers.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift Working: Flexibility to work hours fluctuating between 7:00am-5:00pm
• Days to Work: Weekdays, Weekends, and Holidays
• Per-Diem, Based on Business Needs
