CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO EITHER NEW YORK CITY OR KANSAS CITY, MO This is a travel role. Position to be located in either New York City or Kansas City however national travel will be required. This is a Field Service Engineer Tech role. These positions involve 80-100% travel. Candidates will pay up front for travel expense and be reimbursed once expenses are submitted and approved via Fieldglass. Candidates will be paid for travel time.
Pay: $25-$28/hr
Required Qualifications
- Must be local to New York City, NY or Kansas City, MO.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 80% domestically.
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering
- Hands-on experience with equipment installation, maintenance, servicing, testing, troubleshooting, repair, or preventive maintenance.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using tools and performing mechanical assembly.
- Exceptional technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
- Ability to accurately complete service records and technical documentation.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to collaborate with customers and cross-functional internal teams to resolve service issues.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work overtime as needed and maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:Previous medical device industry or field service experience; experience working within a regulated environment and Quality Management System (QMS); technical writing experience; and experience working within a geographically dispersed or matrixed organization.
We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer/Technician to support the installation, maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and testing of medical device systems and system components.
This is a highly travel-intensive field position requiring up to 80% domestic travel to customer locations. Candidates must currently be local to either New York City or Kansas City, Missouri.
Job Responsibilities
- Install medical device systems and system components at customer locations.
- Perform hardware and/or software upgrades on medical systems.
- Troubleshoot and complete field service repair calls.
- Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on medical equipment.
- Test equipment and systems to ensure proper operation and performance.
- Complete accurate service records for submission to the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Manage weekly field schedules, travel requirements, and customer/service communications.
- Prepare timely and accurate business expense reports in accordance with company policies.
- Support company QMS, Environmental Management System (EMS), and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Perform work in compliance with applicable FDA regulations, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and assigned tasks.
- Maintain professional communication and collaboration with customers, employees, contractors, and vendors.
- Work independently while collaborating with internal teams to resolve technical and customer service issues.
- Perform additional field service responsibilities as assigned.
