Job summary

Katalyst Space Technologies in Colorado seeks a Recent Graduate to join our Guidance, Navigation, and Control team. You will contribute to designing, developing, analyzing, integrating, testing, and operating spacecraft GNC systems, and own defined problems with guidance from senior engineers.

A related Bachelor's degree, hands-on GNC experience from internships or projects, and skills in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or C/C++ are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or related field.
  • Strong grounding in rigid-body dynamics, controls, estimation, or orbital mechanics.
  • Hands-on GNC experience from internships, projects, or teams.
  • Ability to break down GNC problems, model, and validate via simulation or data.
  • Clear written and verbal technical communication.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, analyze, integrate, test, and operate GNC systems.
  • Own defined GNC problems from definition to validation with guidance from seniors.
  • Work with simulation environments, hardware-in-the-loop, or software-in-the-loop tools.
  • Participate in design reviews, test campaigns, anomaly investigations, and readiness activities.
  • Collaborate across software, avionics, mechanical, propulsion, systems, and mission operations.
  • Compare analytical models with test data and iterate toward reliable flight performance.
  • Document models, algorithms, interfaces, and test results for review and reproducibility.
  • Grow from supervised tasks to independent feature-, algorithm-, or subsystem-level work.
  • Translate mission objectives into credible GNC analyses and recommendations.
