Job summary

Natural Grocers is seeking a Receiving Assistant to support the Receiving Manager in daily operations. You will help ensure accurate receiving of products, perform scans, and stage items for the sales floor while maintaining a clean back room.

You will also handle POs/invoices, resolve discrepancies, operate forklift, and assist with store opening/closing tasks and cashier duties as needed. Prior grocery/retail experience and forklift certification are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of grocery/retail or receiving experience preferred; natural foods background is a plus.
• 1 year of supervising others preferred.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Ability to pass food safety training courses and maintain compliance.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused.
• Sense of urgency in task completion.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Highly organized with great attention to detail.
• Must be cashier trained and able to count currency.

Responsibilities

• Provide World Class Customer Service as a priority.
• Assist Receiving Manager in receiving all incoming products with date accuracy and damage checks.
• Scan all incoming and outgoing products.
• Stage products for delivery to the sales floor.
• Process POs, RPOs, mispicks, invoices and paperwork timely and accurately.
• Research and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate delivery issues with managers and vendors.
• Operate forklift and pallet jack as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized back room.
• Assist in training and monitoring department personnel.
• Support store opening/closing activities and cash handling.
• Handle register functions including backup cashiering and customer interactions.
• Maintain safety and security for customers and employees.
• Increase product knowledge and use SAP and inventory software.
