Job summary

Openwork is hiring a Receiving Specialist in Oklahoma City, OK, to ensure accurate intake of materials, proper inventory control, and efficient flow of goods on the factory floor.

You will operate sit-down forklifts, record receipts in the Epicor ERP system, match packing slips to POs, and help maintain clean, organized receiving areas while adhering to FIFO practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of receiving experience required.
• Forklift operation experience required.
• Experience with MRPs/ERP systems.
• Attention to detail and inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unload incoming freight, materials, and parts.
• Operate sit-down forklifts, hand trucks, and overhead cranes to move materials.
• Enter received parts and raw materials into the ERP system.
• Match packing slips against purchase orders and verify shipment accuracy.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
• Report damaged or incorrect materials to appropriate departments.
• Stage and route materials to inventory locations or production areas.
• Perform cycle counts and help resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Keep receiving and stock areas clean and organized.
• Follow FIFO inventory practices where applicable.

Openwork is seeking an experienced Receiving Specialist for a manufacturing operation in Oklahoma City. This is a hands‑on opportunity for someone with strong receiving, inventory, forklift, and MRP/ERP system experience who understands the importance of accuracy and organization in a busy manufacturing environment.

Position at a Glance:

Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73179
Pay: $18.50–$19.00 per hour | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–3:30 PM
Extended Hours: May work as late as 4:30 PM when needed
Overtime: As needed based on business needs
Employment Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire

What You'll Be Responsible For:

• Receive and unload incoming freight, materials, and parts from trucks, flatbeds, and delivery vehicles.
• Operate sit‑down forklifts, hand trucks, and overhead cranes to safely move materials.
• Enter received parts and raw materials into the company's Epicor ERP system.
• Match packing slips against purchase orders and verify shipment accuracy.
• Inspect incoming materials for visible damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
• Report damaged, defective, or incorrect materials to the appropriate departments.
• Stage and route raw steel, components, and industrial parts to inventory locations or production areas.
• Perform cycle counts and help resolve inventory discrepancies.Maintain accurate inventory and receiving records.
• Keep receiving and stock areas clean, organized, and efficient.
• Follow FIFO (First‑In, First‑Out) inventory practices when applicable.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• 2+ years of receiving experience required.
• Forklift operating experience required.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Experience working with an MRP or ERP system required.
• Experience with systems such as Epicor, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics 365, or MRPeasy is a plus.
• Experience matching packing slips and purchase orders.
• Strong inventory, counting, and data-entry skills.
• Ability to identify and report receiving discrepancies.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Reliable and consistent attendance.
• Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Flexibility to work overtime or extended hours based on business needs.

The Work Environment:

• Non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
• Industrial noise levels requiring participation in a hearing conservation program.
• Ability to safely lift 25–50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, and remain active throughout the shift.
• Regular interaction with forklifts, industrial materials, and manufacturing operations.
• Flexibility to work until 4:30 PM when production or business needs require.
