MPS, a division of Macmillan Publishers, in Gordonsville, VA, is seeking a Receiving Specialist to join our distribution team. You will operate ground level equipment such as the Pacer and Walkie Rider and manage the systemic receipt of inventories in a fast-paced warehouse.
Key duties include data entry into the MRP system, verifying documentation, labeling and quantities, and reporting variances. The role requires a High School diploma, safety certifications, and regular overtime hours.
MPS, a division of Macmillan Publishers, a leading US publisher of Trade and Academic titles, has a job opening for a Receiving Specialist in our Gordonsville facility. MPS provides back office support, warehousing, and, fulfillment for Macmillan US, and is their primary distribution facility for North America.
Employee must operate ground level equipment including the Pacer and Walkie/Rider. In addition this employee will be responsible for the systemic receipts of inventories with other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent
Rolling Equipment Operator (Pacer, Walkie Rider)
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondences, and memos. Ability to write legibly and effectively present information one-on-one and to employees and management.
Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions, and to deal with standardized structure with only occasional or no variables.
Computer skills to include basic knowledge of PCs and keyboarding and a working knowledge of our MPS system.

Hourly Rate: $18.8500 to $23.0500
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend; stoop; walk; stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
