MPS, a division of Macmillan Publishers, a leading US publisher of Trade and Academic titles, has a job opening for a Material Handler-Special Projects in our Gordonsville facility. MPS provides back office support, warehousing, and, fulfillment for Macmillan US, and is their primary distribution facility for North America.
In this position, the employee will perform the more advanced general warehouse duties to include making adjustments in the computer system; operating machinery; processing; shrink-wrapping product; operating stretch-wrapping machine, and performing short picker duties while meeting production requirements, following appropriate instructions and safety methods associated with the department they are assigned to.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions; write legibly and effectively communicate information one-on-one and to employees and management.
Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions, and to deal with standardized structure.
