Job summary

Mars Incorporated in Illinois is seeking a Receiving/Mill Operator to batch and test raw materials, unload ingredients, and operate the batching system to ensure product quality and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma with 1–2 years manufacturing experience, basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lift 50 lbs and operate a forklift. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered along with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 1–2 years' experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
• Good basic math, reading, and writing skills.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Basic knowledge of personal computers.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Good housekeeping skills and knowledge of GMP's.
• Ability and willingness to develop and manage self, demonstrate self directed workgroup leadership and contribute to efficiency, quality, and cost optimization with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate forklift in a safe manner.
• Ability to work rotating shifts under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, high and/or confined spaces and have full mobility with the ability to climb ladders and stairs.

Responsibilities

• Unloading of all incoming raw materials.
• Major bin strategy coordination.
• Hard stock grinder management.
• Batching System Operation.
• Meet cut-off and tones requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment that promotes associate safety and product integrity.
• Improve operations through individual and group problem solving.
• Actively address food safety and quality concerns.
• Other duties as assigned.
