Job summary

Rural King is seeking a Receiving Lead in Knoxville, TN to oversee the safe receipt and processing of freight, coordinate unloading and put-away, and maintain accurate inventory records. The role requires strong organizational skills and collaboration with purchasing and logistics teams.

You will lead a receiving team, ensure accurate documentation, and proactively address issues to maintain a smooth supply chain and excellent store operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the receiving team to unload, sort, and process incoming freight safely and efficiently.
• Inspect incoming merchandise for damages and labeling; coordinate with partners to resolve issues.
• Maintain inventory records and update the management system regularly.
• Analyze daily negative inventory and propose solutions.
• Coordinate with purchasing and logistics to ensure smooth merchandise flow.
• Keep the receiving area clean and organized for safety and efficiency.
• Identify and address receiving challenges to prevent disruptions to the supply chain.
• Facilitate store-to-store and UPS transfers efficiently.
• Manage backhaul requests and ensure proper pallet wrapping and loading.
• File all receiving paperwork and complete the Daily Forklift Checklist.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, Telxon gun and other retail equipment.
• Cross-train for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
• Participate in training programs, workshops, and webinars to stay current.
• Provide friendly, proactive internal and external support to inquiries and issues.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
