Receiving Leads are key players in our store's success by ensuring products are received quickly and accurately. They organize, control, and maintain effective backroom and receiving area operations to minimize costs, enforce security procedures, promote a safe work environment, and provide superior service to all customers. In addition to delivering excellent guest service, they guide the team through stocking, ordering, and inventory management. To succeed in this role, candidates should be team players, eager to support their team, driven to grow into leadership, and capable of inspiring others.
Job Description
- Experience Required: 6 months to 1 year; interest in becoming a Non-Union Team Leader.
- Preferred Experience: Customer service; 1-2 years in shipping and/or receiving.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification/License: DSD Certification preferred.
- Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds.
- Age Requirement: At least 18 years old.
Job Responsibilities
- Support a culture of safety, including food safety, team member safety, and customer safety.
- Conduct all interactions with integrity, aiming to deliver unparalleled customer service.
- Receive and process all DSD vendor and third-party deliveries and returns per established procedures, maintaining documentation.
- Keep the backroom and receiving area clean, organized, and clutter-free.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment, exceeding OSHA and health standards by following safety protocols.
- Ensure DSD vendors adhere to company standards for accuracy, safety, and security; receive third-party deliveries according to procedures.
- Conduct vendor spot checks and maintain signature logs for DSD deliveries.
- Notify relevant departments promptly of perishable deliveries to maintain cold chain integrity.
- Document and report pricing discrepancies, damages, and compliance violations involving DSD vendors or products.
- Manage the area outside the receiving room to prevent obstructions and ensure efficient delivery processing.
- Maintain and check receiving equipment (power jacks, DEX, DSD system) and report issues promptly.
- Operate the paper baler to make bales.
- Use the automatic compactor to dispose of trash.
- Organize flats and the backroom for the evening crew.
