What You’ll Do

The purpose of the Receiving Lead is to oversee the efficient and accurate receipt of freight. You will coordinate the receiving process, ensure the safe unloading of merchandise from delivery trucks, and maintain proper documentation of received goods. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will contribute to the smooth flow of merchandise from the truck to the shelves.

• Lead and coordinate the receiving team to ensure timely and accurate unloading, sorting, and processing of incoming freight in accordance with company guidelines and safety protocols.
• Inspect incoming merchandise for damages, discrepancies, and proper labeling; address any issues and coordinate with relevant business partners.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and update the inventory management system regularly.
• Perform daily analysis of negative inventory, investigate causes, and propose solutions.
• Work with purchasing and logistics departments to coordinate merchandise flow and resolve receiving issues.
• Keep the receiving area clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Identify and address potential receiving challenges proactively to prevent supply chain disruptions.
• Facilitate store-to-store and UPS transfers efficiently.
• Coordinate backhaul requests, ensure proper pallet wrapping, and load trucks.
• File all receiving paperwork and complete the Daily Forklift Checklist.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, Telxon gun, and other retail equipment.
• Use general office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, calculators, and computers.
• Participate in cross-training to increase department flexibility.
• Engage in training programs, workshops, and webinars to acquire new skills and stay current.
• Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external contacts.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to maintain seated or standing positions for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull at least 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently.

• Close vision for computer-related tasks.
