Job summary

Openwork's Houston branch is hiring a bilingual Receiving associate for the 2nd shift (2:30pm–11:00pm). You will assist unloading trucks, verify merchandise, and stock items while keeping the warehouse orderly and safe.

Qualified applicants have 1–2 years of warehouse experience in shipping and receiving and are able to operate warehouse equipment such as sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, and reach trucks.

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
• 1–2 years of warehouse experience in shipping and receiving.
• Ability to operate warehouse machinery as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist warehouse unloading trucks and checking in and validating merchandise prior to stocking.
• Sort and place material on racks, shelves or bins according to standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment; organize workspace for orderliness.
• Wear the proper safety equipment at all times.
• Perform inventory stocking moves to ensure system accuracy.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Now Hiring: Bilingual Receiving

Location: Houston, TX 77051

Schedule: 2:30pm - 11:00pm

Pay: $17-$19/hour + $1/hour Shift Differential

The Houston branch of Openwork has partnered with a growing Pipe, Valve & Flange company in Houston to add an 2nd Shift Receiver to their team!

Position Summary

Perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, or managing, organizing, consolidating and retrieving stock in the warehouse.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist warehouse unloading trucks and checking in and validating merchandise prior to stocking
• Sort and place material or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
• Wear the proper safety equipment at all times
• Any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager
• Perform systematically any inventory stocking moves to ensure system accuracy

What We're Looking For

• Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
• One to two years of warehouse related experience in shipping and receiving
• Excellent work ethic: ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player
• Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed
• Experience in operating warehouse machinery (sit-down lift, cherry picker, reach truck, etc)
• Qualified applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug test

PPE Required

• Hardhat; Type 1 Class E, Orange (high visibility)
• Safety Glasses - ANSI z87+, Clear
• Safety Vest - Type R, Class 2, None FR, Yellow/Green, or Orange
• Cut resistant gloves LVL 4+
• Steel Toed Boots (at least 5" ankle coverage)
