Sunbelt Solomon is hiring a Receiving Specialist in Temple, TX. You will manage shipments, verify items, inspect materials, and keep precise records to support production schedules.

This non-exempt full-time role requires high school education, basic MS Office skills, and 1–3 years in a mechanical/electrical field. OSHA10 preferred; lifting up to 50 lbs and stiff safety adherence are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all incoming and outgoing shipments of transformers.
  • Verify accuracy of items received against packing lists or PO
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage and report discrepancies
  • Label, sort, and distribute materials to storage areas
  • Maintain records of incoming inventory (tracking numbers, dates, quantities)
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery for production
  • Assist in cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Operate forklifts, hoist crane or pallet jacks as needed
  • Maintain clean, safe shipping/receiving area
  • Communicate with vendors/carriers to resolve issues
  • Tag transformers according to guidelines
  • Adhere to safety and environmental regulations

Description

The Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing shipments of transformers into the facility. They will partner with load management on verification of inventory assets to ensure adherence to company standards. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies are essential functions of this role.

  • Complete virtual warehouse transactions.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of items received against packing lists or purchase orders.
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage or defects and report any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Label, sort, and distribute incoming materials to the designated storage areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming inventory, including tracking numbers, dates, and quantities.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials for production schedules.
  • Assist in inventory management by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, hoist crane or pallet jacks to move materials within the shop.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area, adhering to safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders to resolve any receiving issues.
  • Match incoming transformers unit information and assign inventory control number.
  • Sort incoming transformers- Scrap and Inventory.
  • Tag incoming transformers according to oil pumping guide and PCB content.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
Requirements
  • High School or GED required .
  • 1-3 years of mechanical and/or electrical field experience preferred .
  • Basic skills in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required .
  • WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience preferred .
  • OSHA10 certified preferred .
  • A p roven track record in safety excellence is required .
  • Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization . Notify management immediately of any safety concern s, hazardous conditions , or injuries.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders .
  • M eet department and production goals set by supervisor.
  • Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations .
  • Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
  • Adheres to the company’s employee handbook policies and embodies the organization’s core values.
  • Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed .
  • Complete company compliance and safety training when required .
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment .
  • Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
  • Standing and walking for long durations
  • Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
  • The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
  • Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time
  • Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilitie s not being climate controlled
