Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon is seeking a Receiving Specialist to manage all incoming and outgoing transformer shipments. You will verify items against packing lists, inspect for damage, and coordinate with internal departments to ensure on-time delivery for production schedules.

You will label, sort, and store materials, maintain accurate inventory records, operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Basic MS Office skills required.
  • 1-3 years transformer experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years mechanical and/or electrical field experience preferred.
  • Material handling equipment experience preferred.
  • OSHA10 certification preferred.
  • Proven track record in safety excellence is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders.
  • Meet evaluation goals assigned by supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify items against packing lists or POs.
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage and report discrepancies.
  • Label, sort, and store materials in designated areas with accurate records.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials for production schedules.
  • Assist in inventory management by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, cranes, or pallet jacks to move materials.
  • Maintain a clean shipping/receiving area and follow safety guidelines.
  • Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Match transformer unit information and assign inventory control numbers.
  • Tag transformers per oil pumping guide and PCB content.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

They will partner with load management on verification of inventory assets to ensure adherence to company standards. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies are essential functions of this role. The hours for this role are

  • Complete virtual warehouse transactions.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of items received against packing lists or purchase orders.
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage or defects and report any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Label, sort, and distribute incoming materials to the designated storage areas Maintain accurate records of all incoming inventory, including tracking numbers, dates, and quantities.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials for production schedules.
  • Assist in inventory management by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, hoist crane or pallet jacks to move materials within the shop
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area, adhering to safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders to resolve any receiving issues.
  • Match incoming transformers unit information and assign inventory control number. Sort incoming transformers- Scrap and Inventory.
  • Tag incoming transformers according to oil pumping guide and PCB content. Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
  • Other assigned duties as needed.

  • Complete virtual warehouse transactions.

  • Inspect incoming materials for damage or defects and report any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Label, sort, and distribute incoming materials to the designated storage areas Maintain accurate records of all incoming inventory, including tracking numbers, dates, and quantities.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials for production schedules.
  • Assist in inventory management by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.

Requirements
  • HS diploma/GED required.

  • 1-3 years of transformer experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of mechanical and/or electrical field experience preferred.
  • Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
  • OSHA10 certification preferred.
  • Proven track record in safety excellence is required.
  • Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders.
  • Meet evaluation goals assigned by supervisor.
  • Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
  • Adheres to the company’s employee handbook policies and embodies the organization’s core values.
  • Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
  • Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
  • Standing and walking for long durations
  • Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
  • The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
  • Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time
  • Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
