Job summary

Soho House is seeking a Receiver to manage the intake, storage, and distribution of food and beverage stock across the club. You will help ensure accuracy of orders, uphold food safety, and support vendors and management in the receiving process.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to read labels, and a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. You will contribute to a high-volume beverage operation in a dynamic club environment.

• 1+ years’ relative experience with a proven track record of leading a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operation.

Responsibilities

• Receive all perishable and non-perishable beverage and food orders and verify plus document the quantity received of all produce, fruits, dry goods, liqueur, chemicals, and supplies.
• Provide support to vendors and management in the receiving of all other supplies as needed
• Check received merchandise (quality and quantity) and reject unacceptable merchandise
• Distribute merchandise accordingly to food safety rules and storage orders.
• Ensure the smooth working of FIFO of walk ins and freezer
• Conduct inventory as advised and communicate results to management
• Daily checklist with overnight porter
• Wipe down and sanitize all areas of bar storage to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the storage of consumable items
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Job description

At Soho House, the Receiver handles and processes all food and beverage stock that is ordered for the house. As the Receiver, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall cleanliness of storage areas, back landing, dry storage, wash area, and walk ins, chef storage, freight elevator, and garbage room. A successful Receiver will maintain an efficient flow of goods, which involves documenting, storing, locating, and distributing stock for the departments. Responsibilities also include the inspection and sort shipments while keeping up with invoices to ensure orders are correct. We hope that you have a great eye for detail, strong reading skills, and an appetite for learning the ins and outs of a high‑volume beverage operations!

Requirements

• 1+ years’ relative experience with a proven track record of leading a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operation.
• Ability to read and write English, ability to read labels and following safety instructions.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
• Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
• Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
• Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 40 pounds.
• Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.

In accordance with California law, the salary range for this role if filled within California is listed below. The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
