Job summary

AVI Foodsystems at Aultman Hospital is seeking a dedicated Receiving Clerk for a Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm shift. This full-time role involves receiving shipments, checking orders, and assisting with inventory in a fast-paced food service environment.

Starting pay is $16 per hour, with increases based on experience and education. You will lift up to 50 pounds, maintain accurate records, follow FIFO, and work as part of a collaborative team committed to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Ability to read planograms and set up merchandise and displays accordingly.
• Well-organized and able to multitask while paying attention to details.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments; verify delivery against the order guide.
• Check products for damage and proper temperatures; sort stock for distribution.
• Keep invoices and stock requests records; monitor storage areas for accuracy.
• Place orders with suppliers as needed and resolve shipping issues.
• Follow FIFO; label storage and assist with duties on sales floor and in the kitchen.

HEADQUARTERS SERVICE CENTER

Our Headquarters Service Center serves as the main support for all AVI operations throughout the United States. Departments include accounting, administration, finance, human resources, marketing, procurement, risk management, training and development, wellness and much more.

AVI Foodsystems at Aultman Hospital is seeking an applicant for a Full-time Receiving Clerk position. This is a Monday-Friday Position 6:00am-2:30pm. Hours may fluctuate to specific business needs. Starting pay rate of $16 plus, based on level of experience and education. The receiving clerk is part of a team that is responsible for all the unpacking and distribution of all products delivered to the Food and Nutrition Department from various distributors throughout the week. This position works on their feet all day, moving and lifting products to and from shelves, inside of walk-in coolers, freezers, and dry storage areas. Applicants should have an understanding of basic food safety and experience in a high-volume kitchen or similar warehouse environment. Positive attitude, teamwork, a desire to succeed, and the ability to get things done are a must.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments; check the accuracy of the delivery against the order guide. Check all products for potential damage and improper temperatures. Sort stock for distribution to the appropriate location or storage area.
• Keep record of invoices sent and received
• Process inter-departmental stock requests and prepare for delivery
• Monitor storage areas to ensure shelf sheet orders and accuracy
• Keep up with the movement of merchandise
• Read planograms and set up displays or rearrange merchandise for organizational flow in the stock room
• Place orders with suppliers as necessary
• Contact supplier and resolve any shipping issues
• Stock and organize all areas of storage following first in, first out method
• Ensure proper labelling on all storage
• Assist with utility tasks on sales floor and kitchen
• Assist the Production Manager with ordering and inventory
• Transport product and people to locations within the site
• Fill out proper receiving and temperature logs
• Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedule for storage areas

Requirements

• Report to work on time, in uniform and check in with manager on duty.
• Must be able to bend and lift heavy boxes. Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to read planograms and set up merchandise and displays accordingly
• Well-organized, able to multitask but also attentive to surrounding details
• Ability to think quickly and resolve issues
• Ability to operate pallet jack
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Education or Equivalent Experience: High School diploma or GED, preferred, but not required
