This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various team members.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Material Receiving: Accurately receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments of lumber and related materials, ensuring that quantities and quality meet specifications.Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, including logging received materials in the inventory management system and reconciling discrepancies.Quality Control: Conduct quality inspections of incoming materials to identify defects or issues and coordinate with suppliers for returns or customer replacements.Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork for received materials, including packing slips, invoices, and quality assurance reports.Organization: Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, ensuring that materials are stored properly to prevent damage and facilitate easy access.Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, warehouse, and delivery teams to ensure timely processing and distribution of materials.Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.OTHER JOB DUTIES:All other duties – Perform all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasksCOMPETENCIES/SKILLS:Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and accuracy in receiving and recording materials.Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:Ability to lift and move heavy materials up to 80lbsStand, sit, bend, kneel, and repetitive lifting for 8 hrs.Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forkliftsClimb stairs while carrying heavy objectsWorks in inclement weather conditions.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalent;Relevant experience in a lumber yard or warehouse environment preferred.Forklift certification is advantageous.We offer a comprehensive benefits package offering flexible options to meet your healthcare needs and a robust 401(k) and Roth retirement savings program.
