Job summary

PMQ Services, LLC is seeking a Level I Quality Control Inspector for its Charlotte, NC area construction projects. The role focuses on ensuring reinforcing steel fabrication meets customer specifications, drawings, and quality standards.

You will perform dimensional and visual inspections across the fabrication process to verify accuracy before shipment. The inspector will work closely with production personnel, document results, and ensure traceability of materials and calibrations.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection within a fabrication, manufacturing, or steel production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in the use of precision measuring and inspection tools listed: tape measures, protractors, carpenter squares, radius templates, thread gauges, Go/No-Go gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to accurately record inspection data and maintain material traceability.
• Effective communication skills with production personnel to resolve quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Inspect rebar bends, angles, and radii for compliance with drawings and specs.
• Verify heat numbers and material traceability.
• Perform in-process inspections on the shop floor before production completes.
• Document inspection results and report nonconforming materials to production and management.
• Maintain calibration awareness and proper care of inspection equipment.
• Work with production to resolve quality concerns and maintain schedules.
• Ensure inspections meet company quality standards and applicable industry requirements.
