Job summary

Nucor Rebar Fabrication Midwest in Newton, IA is seeking an Estimator to prepare timely estimates of quantities for bids, including reinforcing bars, mesh, and accessories. You will read complex construction drawings and apply CRSI/ACI standards, using Takeoff and aSa estimating software.

The role includes progressing through NRF Estimator Training, collaborating with the estimating and sales teams, and contributing to competitive bid strategies while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand construction drawings (structural, architectural, civil).
• Experience with takeoff software and estimating procedures.
• Preference for two-year technical degree and prior reinforcement bar estimating experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely estimates of quantities of fabricated reinforcing bars, mesh, accessories, and related products for bidding projects.
• Adhere to NRF Estimating Program and progress through training.
• Use Takeoff and aSa estimating software to support bid development.
• Communicate effectively with sales teammates regarding estimating and bidding processes.
