Job summary

ASSOCIATION OF VILLAGE COUNCIL PRESIDENTS in Bethel, Alaska, seeks a Realty Clerk/Realty Specialist I/II in the Realty Department to manage land information, case files, and BIA submissions. This is a career ladder role with Level I/II responsibilities and regional travel requirements.

The position reports to the Realty Program Manager, supports restricted landowner services, and prepares complete case files for BIA review, including ownership research and document recording.

Qualifications

• Dependable attendance and strong written, oral, organizational, analytical, and computer skills.
• Bilingual Yup’ik/English preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of general clerical or secretarial experience preferred.
• Ability to read and apply CFRs related to Real Estate transactions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains confidentiality of the department and clientele.
• Opens new files, maintains records, responds to requests, and provides assistance.
• Prepares land ownership records research and responds to information requests.
• Prepares and submits transaction packages to the Bureau of Indian Affairs for review.
• Coordinates travel, equipment inventory, supply ordering, and training for the department.
• Organizes and maintains a master filing system and provides routine/ad hoc reports.
• Travels in and out of the region as required.
