KACE delivers technology-enabled mission services across public health, safety and national security. Linguists provide real-time or recorded transcription from Urban English to English for sensitive law enforcement work, ensuring accuracy and clear written records while handling slang and codes.

Assignments are part-time, on-site with travel to client sites as needed; candidates must obtain Public Trust and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year translation experience in the required language.
• Knowledge of Urban English colloquialisms, slang terms, and regional expressions.
• Familiarity with SMS shorthand, social media terminology, and web chat communications.
• Excellent verbal and written skills in the target language, including accurate grammar.
• Ability to meet a language assessment score of 3 or better in English.

Responsabilités

• Listen to live or recorded communications and produce synopses and transcriptions.
• Communicate pertinent information to law enforcement personnel in a timely manner.
• Build and maintain a slang terms index and a voice library for the project duration.
• Transcribe and translate calls and documents as assigned by the supervisor.
• Produce court-ready transcriptions in the required format.
• Use project reference tools to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Transcribe a minimum of 16 minutes of recorded conversation per 8-hour day.
• Operate government-provided software and equipment at the site.
• Maintain a daily productivity log per project requirements.
