Job summary

GFT seeks a part-time Transportation Management Center (TMC) Operator in Chipley, FL, to join our on-site team. You will monitor traffic via CCTV and data apps, coordinate with DOT and field crews, and dispatch maintenance for urgent needs in a 24/7/365 environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and strong communication. Flexible schedules and knowledge of local DOT roads are preferred. Competitive benefits and on-site hours apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities essential.
• Preferred: dispatching, traffic systems, or fast-paced monitoring experience.
• Ability to multitask and stay sharp under pressure.
• Flexible schedules and on-call availability preferred.
• Familiarity with local DOT roadways or public safety/transportation background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor roadway conditions using CCTV, traffic data, and apps.
• Detect incidents quickly and coordinate with DOT, law enforcement, and field crews.
• Dispatch maintenance teams for urgent and routine roadway needs.
• Update Variable and Dynamic Message Signs to inform travelers in real time.
• Verify traveler information across DOT platforms.
• Track closures, hotspots, work zones, and equipment issues.
