Job summary

GFT in Chipley, FL is seeking a part-time Transportation Management Center (TMC) Operator to support real-time traffic operations from our Chipley office.

You'll monitor CCTV and traffic data, coordinate with DOT and field crews, dispatch maintenance teams, and update traveler information across DOT platforms in a 24/7/365 environment. This on-site role offers regular shifts with benefits and opportunities to contribute to Florida's mobility.

What You Will Do:

GFT is seeking a part-time Transportation Management Center (TMC) Operator to join our Practice or CBG Team in Chipley, FL! This role follows an on-site work model, requiring regular attendance at our Chipley, FL office.

We are currently offering the following positions for qualified candidates to fill current needs:

• Full-Time (40 hours a week/with benefits, flexible shifts)

Help keep Florida moving. As a TMC Operator at GFT, you'll be on the front lines of real-time traffic operations-using advanced technology, live video, and direct coordination with DOT teams to keep drivers safe and informed 24/7.

What you'll be challenged to do:

A Traffic Systems Dispatcher/Operator and Data Collection is responsible for Traffic Operations situational awareness, data entry and monitoring a designated region, district and roadway for normal and emergency conditions to identify incidents, coordinate response and update status for DOT and Consultant management in a 24/7/365 environment, using various software, CCTV and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

• Monitor roadway conditions using CCTV, traffic data, and apps like Waze and Google Traffic
• Detect incidents quickly and coordinate response with DOT, law enforcement, and field crews
• Dispatch maintenance teams for urgent and routine roadway needs
• Update Variable and Dynamic Message Signs to inform travelers in real time
• Verify traveler information across DOT platforms
• Track closures, hotspots, work zones, and equipment issues

Education | Experience:

What you will bring to our firm:

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong communication skills
• Preferred: Experience with dispatching, traffic systems, or fast-paced monitoring environments
• Ability to multitask and stay sharp under pressure
• Flexibility for varied schedules and on-call needs
• Preferred: Familiarity with local DOT roadways or background in public safety/transportation

Compensation:

The range for this position is salary range is $20-22 per hour. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
