Job summary

Path Robotics is seeking a Perception Engineer to own the real-time perception loop from sensing through geometry to a control interface on embedded hardware. You will push robust estimation under degraded imagery and defend sensing choices with data.

Strong background in classical vision, 3-D geometry, and production C++/ROS2 is required. This role focuses on end-to-end perception in a demanding hardware environment with a bias toward reliable, verifiable results.

Qualifications

• Experience closing a real-time loop on camera data on real hardware.
• First-principles depth in classical vision and 3-D geometry.
• Production-grade C++ and ROS 2 experience.
• GPU-accelerated inference on embedded hardware and tail-measurement.

Responsibilities

• Own the real-time perception pipeline from sensing to output for another engineer's control loop.
• Ensure robustness when imagery is degraded and measurements remain reliable.
• Provide honest estimates with clear failure signaling when data is uncertain.
• Perform geometric estimation against known models and handle partial data reliably.
• Evaluate sensing options, run experiments, and defend choices with data.
• Set technical direction as perception moves toward learned methods.
