Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking an experienced E-Trading software developer to join the tech team responsible for a large high performance real-time trading platform. You will design and support platform components across market data, orders and real-time algos, collaborating with traders, quants and engineers.

The role emphasizes front-office collaboration, multi-threaded Java, low-latency design, and CI/CD practices in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Five to Seven years of hands-on core Java experience (Java 8+).
• Experience in front-office facing roles, interacting with Traders.
• Experience with agile/DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing.
• Strong multi-threading and messaging middleware knowledge.
• Ability to design extensible, testable, and maintainable code.
• Experience with real-time trading system design principles.
• Knowledge of FIX and market APIs (Bloomberg, Tradeweb, CME, Nasdaq).

Responsibilities

• Develop and support real-time trading platform components.
• Collaborate with quants, traders and engineers to modernize the platform.
• Refactor and optimize performance-critical code paths.
• Implement scalable, low-latency architecture and services.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Integrate with market venues and standard protocols.
