Job summary

Talan is hiring a Senior Java Developer for eTrading applications in NYC. You will design, develop and optimize low-latency, high-throughput trading systems, collaborating with traders, quants, risk, compliance and IT teams to deliver fast electronic trading solutions.

With 5–8 years in trading system development and 5+ years of enterprise Java (11–17), you will work in a hybrid environment emphasizing asynchronous, event-driven programming and CI/CD practices to ensure robust software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS, engineering, or math.
• 5–8 years of experience in trading system development.
• 5+ years hands-on enterprise Java development (Java 11–17).
• Experience with asynchronous, event-driven programming and concurrency.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support low-latency, event-driven trading systems.
• Work closely with traders, quants, and other business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Provide accurate work estimates and contribute to technical architecture and design.
• Ensure code quality with CI/CD, static and dynamic code analysis, and security scans.
• Mentor developers and provide technical guidance.
• Participate in all phases of the software delivery lifecycle, from analysis to production support.
