Job summary

Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG is seeking a motivated Computer Engineering graduate to join its humanoid robotics team in Troy, MI. You will design, implement, and validate actuator control software for humanoid robots and contribute to high-fidelity digital twins used in reinforcement learning pipelines.

The role blends embedded controls, robotics, and AI simulation, offering collaboration with cross-functional engineers and hands-on hardware experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field and recent graduate status.
• 0–2 years of experience in control systems, embedded software, and real-time systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python required.
• Familiarity with robotics concepts and simulation tools.
• Experience with version control, debugging, and testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time control algorithms for humanoid robot actuators.
• Write clean embedded and high-level software for control loops and state estimation.
• Collaborate with mechanical/electrical teams to integrate actuator capabilities.
• Support digital twins development for actuators and reinforcement learning workflows.
• Assist in sim-to-real transfer and policy training for robotics systems.
• Perform system identification and correlate physical actuators with digital models.
• Conduct testing, debugging, and performance analysis on hardware and simulations.
• Document designs and participate in reviews.
