Job summary

ISO New England Inc. is seeking an Engineer to Senior Engineer level in the U.S. region.

You will analyze, design, and support Real-Time Market Systems and related applications within a collaborative team focused on reliability and optimization of the electricity market in New England. You will be involved in complex technical assignments, production support, and cross-functional coordination with Operations, Market Administration, and Outsource teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or Computer Science required; advanced degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of bulk power systems and energy market operations.
• Programming skills in Java and Oracle technologies is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to participate in the on-call rotation, which may include working hours outside of the standard schedule; prior on-call experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, DevOps, GitOps, and Docker technologies.
• Experience with GE Grid (formerly Alstom) MMS/EMS or similar products.
• Knowledge of optimization algorithms

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, program, troubleshoot, and implement fixes associated with Real-Time Market Systems and related applications.
• Plan, coordinate, and perform complex technical assignments related to software applications in support of the Operations, Market Administration, Internal Market Mitigation, and Outage Scheduling groups.
• Provide production support to various internal and external-facing applications.
• Coordinate with consultants and vendors on project deliverables.
• Integrate software solutions across multiple applications, systems, and databases.
• Follow Change Management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) policies and procedures
