Job summary

RTX is seeking a software engineer for the Software Engineering Directorate’s Effectors Center. You will design, develop, and test real-time embedded software for missiles, launchers, radars, and naval fire control systems, working in a fast-paced agile team in Tucson, AZ.

This onsite role requires collaboration with systems and hardware teams and adherence to mission-critical standards. Ideal candidates have a Master’s in STEM, hands-on C/C++ experience, and familiarity with embedded RTOS,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field by start date.
• Experience developing, building, or debugging software applications using C, C++, or another OO language.
• Experience with hardware-software integration or embedded system testing.
• Experience applying object-oriented principles and common data structures/algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Assist in deriving software requirements, architecture design, implementation, and verification of real-time embedded software and tools.
• Design, code, test, and integrate high-reliability software solutions in C/C++ for missiles, launchers, radars, and control systems.
• Perform hardware-software integration, bench debugging, and testing on embedded targets and HIL environments.
• Participate in internal code reviews, design reviews, and technical trade studies.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and PMs to align requirements and interfaces.
