Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Engineer in Tucson, AZ, to design, develop, and test real‑time embedded software for missiles, launchers, radars, and naval fire control systems. You will work in a fast‑paced agile team, contributing across the full software lifecycle, including testing, debugging, and delivering mission‑critical code.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a STEM field, strong C/C++ OO programming skills, and hardware–software integration experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM major.
• Experience developing, building, or debugging software applications using C, C++, or similar OO language.
• Experience with hardware–software integration and embedded system testing or bench‑level debugging.

Responsibilities

• Assist in deriving software requirements, architecture design, implementation and verification of real‑time embedded software.
• Design, code, test, and integrate high‑reliability software solutions in C/C++ for embedded targets.
• Execute hardware–software integration and bench testing on embedded targets and HIL environments.
• Participate in internal peer code reviews, component design reviews, and technical trade studies.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and project managers to align requirements and interfaces.
• Follow software engineering processes and configuration management to deliver robust, mission‑critical software.
