Job summary

Amazon seeks a skilled embedded software engineer to design and build safety-critical motor control firmware for robotics systems in Seattle. You will implement real-time software, handle encoders, current sensing, and feedback loops while meeting functional safety standards.

You will collaborate with hardware, systems, and safety engineers across prototype to production, improving tooling, CI/CD, and validation processes to deliver robust automation solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development.
• Experience in design or architecture of systems.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one language.
• Knowledge of motor control fundamentals and safety concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain real-time motor control firmware.
• Implement and tune feedback control loops and sensing.
• Support safety analyses and audits across the lifecycle.
• Build pipelines for calibration, synchronization and testing.
• Collaborate with hardware and safety teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
