Job summary

Electric Hydrogen is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to develop real-time firmware for power electronics and auxiliary electronics, spanning the full embedded development lifecycle from board bring-up to control algorithm implementation and system communications. You will collaborate with electrical, power electronics, controls, and systems engineers to deliver reliable embedded solutions.

A relevant degree and 3+ years in firmware are expected, with experience in C, CAN, Modbus, Ethernet,

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years of professional firmware or embedded software experience
• Experience developing real-time embedded firmware in C
• Experience with embedded development tools (compilers, debuggers, IDEs)
• Version control and issue tracking (Git, Jira)
• Experience with CAN, Modbus, Ethernet
• Device drivers (ADC, GPIO, PWM, UART, SPI, I2C)
• Hands-on lab equipment experience (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug low-level, real-time, low-latency firmware in C
• Perform board bring-up, debugging, testing, and code optimization
• Develop and maintain device drivers and hardware interfaces
• Implement control algorithms for power electronics and auxiliary electronics
• Design and implement protocols for system communications
• Troubleshoot firmware/hardware interactions with lab equipment
• Write and maintain software specifications and docs
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering teams throughout product development
