Job summary

Outside Analytics, a proud SMX subsidiary, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with a strong C++ background to advance real-time data processing in remote sensing missions. You will design, optimize, and deploy high-reliability software for constrained SWaP environments and collaborate with architects, engineers, and customers to deliver impactful solutions.

The role requires working with DoD standards, CI/CD pipelines, and extensive Linux-based development.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in high performance C++ applications software engineering within Linux environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with equivalent experience.
• Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
• Knowledge of embedded systems and hardware acceleration concepts.
• Ability to document and communicate software designs.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent problem solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize C++ applications for real-time operational mission data processing signal chains.
• Characterize data from remote sensing providers and tune signal processing chains for target data.
• Contribute to robust, repeatable signal processing architecture.
• Engineer solutions for Low SWaP deployments (Versal ACAP devices).
• Ensure designs are documented and tested thoroughly.
• Use CI/CD pipelines to ensure software quality in the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with team members to reach project milestones.
• Adhere to DoD processes and standards for quality and security.
