Job summary

Thurston County is seeking an Official Court Reporter to attend and verbatim report court proceedings, leveraging real-time capabilities to convert stenographic keystrokes into written records. You will prepare draft transcripts, maintain dictionaries for faster transcription, and ensure proper indexing and storage of electronic case notes.

The role includes occasional travel to multiple courthouse locations, a standard weekday schedule, and potential remote work options.

Responsibilities

• Attends and reports court proceedings verbatim utilizing real-time capability and equipment.
• Prepares draft transcripts and Verbatim Reports of Proceedings as requested by counsel or the court.
• Maintains and expands computer dictionary for real-time reporting systems.
• Indexes and files court notes and manages computerized records.
• Transcribes oral decisions and other proceedings as requested by the Judge.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Judge.
