Job summary

Versant Media is seeking an experienced Real-Time Graphics Engineer to own our live graphics systems (Vizrt and Ross) and run critical live operations with no escalation. You will design templates, automate pipelines, and coordinate with IP infrastructure teams in a fast-paced newsroom and control-room environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years on real-time graphics in broadcast or live production, strong communication skills, and a track record of deployments and upgrades.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience owning real-time graphics systems in a broadcast, sports, or live production environment.
• Hands-on production-level experience with Vizrt and/or Ross graphics platforms.
• Ability to run live show support independently under pressure without escalation.
• Experience leading graphics system installations or upgrades.
• Knowledge of broadcast signal flow, IP networking fundamentals, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end reliability and performance of real-time graphics systems (Vizrt and/or Ross).
• Run live show support for news, sports, and event broadcasts without escalation.
• Own and maintain camera tracking and AR/virtual set systems (ncam, Stype).
• Design and maintain redundancy and failover for 24/7 operations.
• Lead graphics system installations, upgrades, and integrations.
• Design and build graphics templates, data links, and automation pipelines.
• Integrate graphics signal flow into SMPTE 2110 environment.
• Manage relationships with Vizrt, Ross, and AR/tracking vendors; handle escalation & licensing questions.
• Evaluate new real-time graphics tech and adoption potential.
• Mentor junior engineers and write SOPs/runbooks.
• Participate in post-incident reviews and drive learning.
