Job summary

ORMAT is seeking a Battery Storage Operations Specialist in Philadelphia to manage real-time operations of our battery portfolio and monitor grid conditions. This role requires coordinating dispatch, outages, startups, and ensuring reliability under ISO/NERC rules.

You will analyze market information for dispatch opportunities, maintain documentation, and work in a fast-paced team while supporting process improvements and continuing education requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent or relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read, write and speak English to communicate information safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage the real-time operations of the battery portfolio and dispatch based on economic conditions and constraints.
• Coordinate unit availability, outages, startup and shutdown, and communicate with plant personnel, ISOs, and asset management.
• Ensure real-time actions comply with NERC and ISO requirements and tariffs.
• Monitor market information to identify dispatching and trading opportunities.
• Maintain documentation for processes and contribute to improvements and tool enhancements.
• Work a rotating 24-hour schedule; during training, hours are 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Mon–Fri for up to 4 months.
• Be prepared for storm/event duty and extended shifts as needed.
