Job summary

Harrison Street Asset Management is seeking a two-year Associate to join the Transactions team in our New York office.

The Associate will play a key role in the evaluation, underwriting, and execution of new real estate investment opportunities across sectors with a focus on major asset classes (multifamily, office, industrial, and retail) as well as exposure to alternatives (senior housing, student housing, medical, and digital).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a STEM field with strong financial analysis.
• 3 years of experience in real estate or investment banking with direct underwriting exposure.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills; Excel and PowerPoint required; Argus preferred.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to synthesize analyses into concise recommendations.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and demonstrate interest in real estate investing.

Responsibilities

• Support acquisition and execution of new equity investments and debt originations across the capital stack.
• Develop and maintain detailed financial cash flow models and sensitivity analyses.
• Conduct market research, asset-level diligence and comparative analyses.
• Prepare and present in pipeline meetings and investment committees with key underwriting details.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to drive transaction execution through closing.
• Conduct sector and market research to identify trends and opportunities.
