Job summary
Maine Department of Transportation in Augusta, ME seeks a supervisory real estate paralegal in the Title Office. Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree and four years of paralegal experience in a law firm, court, or legal services agency, or an equivalent combination.
- Preference given to real estate transactional experience and title abstracting.
- Ability to read plans and understand right-of-way maps.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train the Department’s real estate paralegals in the Title Office.
- Prepare and review title work and closing documents for property conveyances.
- Assist with the condemnation process and property acquisitions for transportation projects.
- Coordinate with the Property Office Manager, Chief Surveyor, mappers, and Transportation Counsel to resolve title issues.
