Job summary

LHH in Maryland is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support day-to-day activities across a portfolio of real estate properties. The role covers month-end close, financial reporting, AP/AR, and property-level accounting to ensure accurate records.

You will collaborate with property management and asset teams, prepare property-level statements, maintain GL reconciliations, and assist with audits and budgets. A Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of real estate experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Real estate, property management, construction, or related industry experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience with real estate accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, RealPage) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting functions for a portfolio of commercial and/or residential real estate properties.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Assist with monthly property-level financial statements and internal reporting packages.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice coding and cash application.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor property-level cash activity.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and assist with depreciation calculations.
• Support accounting for property acquisitions, dispositions, and capital expenditures.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Maintain supporting documentation and assist with audits.
