Job summary

LHH partners with a well-established real estate investment and property management organization to identify a Property Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties.

The role collaborates with property management, asset management, and corporate accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, tenant billing, vendor payments, and cash management while navigating a multi-entity environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience supporting property, real estate, or multi-entity accounting environments preferred.
  • Understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, cash management, and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with property management or real estate accounting software preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • Team-oriented approach with a willingness to support broader accounting and operational initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, vendor payments, and ACH transactions.
  • Maintain vendor records and assist with compliance-related documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with tenant billing activities, operating expense recoveries, and other recurring property accounting functions.
  • Process and review cash receipts, account activity, and tenant account reconciliations.
  • Assist with collection efforts and resolve tenant accounting discrepancies as needed.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and support cash management activities across multiple entities.
  • Monitor daily cash transactions and assist with treasury-related processes and banking administration.
  • Support financial reporting, month-end close activities, and internal control procedures.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and other special accounting projects.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accounting operations are running efficiently and accurately.

Job description
