Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in right of way, title, paralegal or real property law/mortgage lending
• Ability to read and understand real estate documents (appraisal, environmental, deeds, easements, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Regulatory knowledge a plus
• Familiarity with MS Office, Webex and Teams is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Read, review and interpret legal descriptions (parent parcel, metes and bounds, subdivisions)
• Identify title defects and curative requirements; escalate to Project Manager or underwriter as needed
• Prepare project reports and review title document packages
• Maintain accurate records of title research activities
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Real Estate Title Agent staff, and Real Estate Tech staff
• Support junior staff training by sharing insights and procedures
• Escalate title issues to Real Estate Agent and Project Manager when needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned

In the role of a Real Estate Service Title Agent 2, we'll count on you to:

• Perform basic principles in reading, writing, retracing and interpreting legal descriptions, such as parent parcel; metes and bounds; and subdivision
• Review and identify title defects and curative requirements; bringing these matters to the attention of Project Manager, Real Estate Agent, client, title manager or underwriter, as appropriate
• Preparation of project reports, and review of title document packages
• Maintain accurate records of title research activities to ensure appropriate back-up information exists
• Works closely with and at the direction of team members, including Project Managers, Real Estate Title Agent 3 staff, Real Estate Tech 3 staff and Real Estate Agent 3 staff
• Supports Real Estate Title Agent 3 with development and participates in training junior staff by providing insight and instruction regarding task completion and procedure
• Recognize when to escape title issues to Real Estate Agent and Project Manager
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or certification pertaining to right of way, title, paralegal, real property law or mortgage lending, or equivalent experience

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years experience with right of way, title, paralegal, real property law or mortgage lending
• Must have ability to understand real estate documents such as appraisal, environmental, survey, deeds, easements, deeds of trust, mechanics liens, tax liens, judgments, court records, assessments, probates and other matters of record
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Solid organizational and planning skills
• Specific industry regulatory knowledge a plus
• Database, ProjectWise and GIS familiarity a plus
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, Webex and Teams
