Job summary

HDR seeks a Real Estate Services Agent I to perform due diligence and assist in acquiring rights for public or private projects. The role requires working with property owners, project teams, and field staff to ensure compliant, timely outcomes.

You will prepare offer packages, review appraisals, and maintain detailed records. This entry-level position emphasizes communication, negotiation, and coordination across teams, with flexible hours and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of real estate experience or 120 hours of documented real estate training.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local real estate laws (e.g., Uniform Act, NEPA).
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite; able to work effectively with clients and property owners.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Able to balance office and field work; flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-negotiation project, parcel and property owner due diligence and non-complex negotiations for acquisition of rights relative to public or private projects as assigned.
  • Review appraisals and just compensation; verify parcel on right-of-way plans or plats; verify property owners and the extent of interests; prepare offer packages; and maintain complete and detailed records/files with owner contacts, maps, drawings, exhibits and detailed progress reports.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Real Estate Services Agent I, we'll count on you to:
  • Provide pre-negotiation project, parcel and property owner due diligence and non-complex negotiations for acquisition of rights relative to public or private projects as assigned

  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Real estate license in good standing, or equivalent, as required by law
  • Database and GIS familiarity
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in real estate or 120 hours of documented real estate training
  • Ability to understand and work in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations specific to the real estate and right-of-way industry, such as the Uniform Act, FERC and NEPA
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills, basic understanding of negotiation and presentation skills, and ability to work flexible hours and effectively with people of all types
  • Ability to work confidently with clients, property owners and occupants
  • Effectively balance office and field work in a collaborative and deadline-sensitive manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Availability to work flexible hours and coordinate closely with management
