Southern Law Group is seeking an experienced Real Estate Closing Paralegal to join our Charlotte office. This role will manage residential real estate transactions from contract to closing, ensuring clear communication with clients, agents, lenders, attorneys, and other parties involved.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience in real estate closing or paralegal roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with North Carolina closing procedures and documents.
  • SoftPro Select experience is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Balance residential real estate transactions and prepare files for closing.
  • Prepare settlement statements, closing disclosures, deeds, affidavits, and other closing documents.
  • Review contracts, title searches, payoffs, HOA information, invoices, insurance documents and other documents for accuracy.
  • Enter and maintain accurate file information in SoftPro Select.
  • Review and validate lender closing packages to ensure all documents and instructions are received.
  • Ensure lender, attorney, and firm requirements are satisfied before closing.
  • Communicate professionally with buyers, sellers, agents, lenders, attorneys, title companies, and others.
  • Obtain invoices, documents, approvals, and additional information needed to complete files.
  • Identify discrepancies or issues delaying closing and escalate to the attorney.
  • Coordinate funding figures and document delivery for closings.
  • Maintain accurate file notes, task lists, and deadlines.
  • Manage a high volume of files with accuracy and organization.
  • Prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide timely updates to all parties throughout the closing process.
  • Support attorneys and team members as needed.
  • Follow firm procedures and confidentiality requirements.

  • Identify discrepancies, title concerns, missing documents, or other issues that could delay closing and promptly elevate them to the appropriate attorney
  • Coordinate funding figures, document delivery, and other closing-related requirements
  • Maintain accurate file notes, task lists, deadlines, and supporting documentation
  • Manage a high volume of files while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
  • Prioritize competing deadlines and remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Provide timely updates to all parties throughout the closing process
  • Support attorneys and other team members as needed
  • Follow all firm procedures, security protocols, and confidentiality requirements
Experience and Qualifications
  • Previous real estate closing or real estate paralegal experience preferred
  • Experience with residential purchase, sale, and refinance transactions strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with North Carolina real estate closing procedures and documents
  • SoftPro Select experience is required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple files and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating with clients, agents, lenders, and other professionals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and general office technology
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Positive attitude and willingness to support the team
