Job Description

We are hiring a Construction Material Manager to support our growing portfolio of custom homes and multifamily projects in the Houston area. This role is critical in ensuring the timely procurement and delivery of high-quality building materials that meet design specifications and budget expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Source, negotiate, and manage procurement of construction materials including:

• Lumber and framing packages
• Doors, trim, and hardware
• Windows and glazing systems
• Flooring and tile
• Appliances
• Plumbing fixtures and supplies
• Light fixtures and electrical accessories

Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships

Track pricing, lead times, and material availability across multiple projects

Coordinate deliveries and manage material logistics from pre-construction through final finish

Collaborate with project managers, site superintendents, and designers to ensure materials meet scope, budget, and schedule

Support value engineering and budget alignment through alternate sourcing and product recommendations

Maintain detailed logs of submittals, samples, and procurement approvals

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in residential or multifamily construction purchasing or material management
• Deep understanding of construction materials and specifications
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Experience sourcing from both local and regional vendors
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple active job sites
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and project management tools (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar)
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
