Job summary

MPI in Houston, TX seeks an Associate of Investments to support the full investment lifecycle across a diverse residential real estate portfolio. The role blends acquisition underwriting with active asset management, providing exposure to both transactional and operational investing.

You will build financial models in Excel, conduct market research, prepare investment memoranda, support financing, monitor performance, and help with investor reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience within real estate investments, acquisitions, underwriting or asset management.
• Previous exposure to multifamily or residential real estate investments is highly desirable.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel modelling skills with the ability to build and manipulate complex financial models.
• Strong understanding of real estate finance, capital structures, debt financing and investment performance metrics.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact confidently with senior stakeholders.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, commercially minded and collaborative in approach.
• Willingness to travel periodically for property and market visits.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain detailed financial models for acquisition and investment opportunities, including cash flow projections, sensitivity analyses and return metrics.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis and due diligence to assess potential investment opportunities.
• Prepare investment memoranda, presentations and supporting materials for senior leadership and investment committee review.
• Support debt and equity financing initiatives, lender communications and transaction execution.
• Monitor portfolio performance against budget and business plan objectives, identifying opportunities to enhance returns.
• Develop budgets, business plans, forecasting models and hold/sell analyses for portfolio assets.
• Assist with investor reporting, portfolio analytics and continuous improvement of internal investment processes and reporting tools.
