Job summary

MPI in Houston is seeking a Development Manager / Senior Development Associate to lead development projects across the full lifecycle, from concept through construction and into asset management. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 3-8 years of commercial real estate experience with a developer, owner-operator, investment manager, or institutional platform.
• Direct experience participating in multiple phases of the development process.
• Strong financial modeling, underwriting, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
• Experience evaluating feasibility, budgets, capital structures, and investment returns.
• Familiarity with construction financing, development capital markets, and joint venture structures.
• Exposure to industrial, office, retail, mixed-use, hospitality, life sciences, or large-scale developments.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and comfort leveraging modern data and AI-enabled analytics tools.
• Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and capable of operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead development projects from initial concept through construction commencement.
• Manage due diligence, feasibility studies, entitlement processes, design coordination, budgeting, and planning.
• Develop detailed financial models, underwriting analyses, budgets, and investment presentations.
• Support construction financing efforts, including lender engagement and capital sourcing.
• Evaluate acquisitions, joint ventures, and development opportunities across asset classes.
• Partner with leasing teams to shape project positioning and tenant strategies.
• Assist with asset management initiatives, performance monitoring, refinancing, and value creation.
