Job summary

Elite Placement Group is working with a well-established investment organization seeking an experienced Fund Accountant to join its team.

This role provides exposure to real estate investment funds, financial reporting, audits, tax accounting, and investor reporting, with a 3-4+ years of accounting experience. The ideal candidate has strong Excel skills and a hands-on, detail-oriented approach for high-volume work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3-4+ years of accounting experience
• Investment, real estate, or fund accounting experience preferred
• CPA or public accounting experience preferred
• Familiarity with partnership tax returns is a plus
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Hands-on, flexible approach with the ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly workpapers, financial statements, footnote disclosures, and investor reports for approximately 40 real estate investment funds
• Support annual audits by preparing information and documentation for external auditors
• Record tax entries in the general ledger for funds, corporate entities, and shell entities
• Prepare quarterly and annual GAAP projections for select funds
• Prepare and evaluate annual impairment calculations
• Review annual fund 1099s
• Prepare ad hoc reports and respond to investor requests
• Assist with other accounting and reporting projects as needed
