Job summary

Alexander Chapman is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead development and construction efforts in the New York area. The role spans pre-development through completion, coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, and owners to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction or real estate development, strong communication skills, and proficiency with construction software and MS Office. Travel to sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction, real estate development, project management, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience managing ground-up construction, renovations, or complex development projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate Development, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, project schedules, budgets, contracts, and project controls.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and ownership teams.
• Proficiency with project management and construction software; strong Microsoft Office/Excel skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage development and construction projects from pre-development through completion.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, consultants, contractors, and project deliverables.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Manage project documentation, approvals, scopes of work, change orders, and contracts.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, costs, and adherence to project schedules.
• Identify and proactively resolve project risks, issues, and potential delays.
• Support due diligence, feasibility analysis, design development, permitting, and procurement activities.
• Conduct site visits and coordinate construction meetings and progress reporting.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with established scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety expectations.
• Provide regular project updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
