Job summary

World Bank Group seeks an E T Consultant for Real Estate Decarbonization to lead energy audits, feasibility studies, and baseline assessments of real estate portfolios. The role supports decarbonization pathways, net-zero planning, and CapEx-aligned strategies across global portfolios.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in building science, architectural engineering, sustainability, or closely related field.
• Minimum of five years of operational experience in real estate decarbonization, energy efficiency, or technical advisory.
• Experience with IFC, MDB, or financial institutions on private sector advisory projects is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Assess sustainability strategies to identify gaps and areas of improvement.
• Evaluate energy efficiency, energy storage, building electrification and renewable measures for DRIVE projects.
• Conduct and/or review baseline assessments for real estate portfolio emissions.
• Provide recommendations to determine climate goals aligned with international frameworks (SBTi).
• Provide recommendations on the decarbonization strategy and pathway for DRIVE.
• Recommend strategies to reduce greenhouse emissions and energy, water and material use for real estate portfolios.
• Review CapEx plans to meet targets, savings, and payback periods.
• Research new regulations impacting operations and valuations in relevant markets.
• Review strategies for on-site and off-site renewable energy options.
• Review framework for monitoring and reporting progress of DRIVE decarbonization roadmap.
• Other related tasks as needed.
