Job summary

Harrison Street Asset Management in Chicago seeks an Associate for the Capital Markets team to manage debt financing from origination to closing. You will monitor debt portfolios, advise on financing strategy, and support fund-level financing initiatives with lenders and brokers.

The role requires 3+ years in real estate, solid finance knowledge, and strong communication skills; a BS/BA is required, with MS/JD/MBA considered. Competitive base and bonus included.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of real estate work experience, preferably lenders or asset managers.
• Strong understanding of real estate finance and structuring.
• Proven track record managing financing from origination to closing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and multi-project skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage debt financing transactions from origination through closing.
• Monitor and manage the existing debt portfolio, including maturities and covenants.
• Advise acquisition and asset management teams on financing strategy and underwriting.
• Support fund-level financing initiatives and credit facilities.
• Develop lender relationships and stay current on debt capital markets trends.
